Keetmanshoop to Clanwilliam

A huge drive back to the cape. Spent the night at the Quiver Tree forest again. Shot some portraits. Stopped for lunch in Kamieskroon to see the namaqua wild flowers. Now back in the cederberg for a few days chill and climbing...

Starting Home

A bit of a weird post this. After Caprivi we made a mad dash through Botswana, stopped at the swamp and saw nothing but reeds. Then drove to Gobabis and spent a night at a really strange animal rehab shelter. The highlight being stopping on the way there to help a family to repair their punctured tyre :) my puncture repair kit actually worked!!

Our luck is out though. Today a rock went through my tyre which is now irreparable and our tent died. So a night here in Gobabis and then tomorrow morning early we take our first long drive back to the Cape...

Hambukushu Tribe Village

Yesterday we were taken to a small Hambukushu village near Ngepi. Some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met. Got some really cool shots, the best however was seeing the reaction on their faces when I showed them the pics. Looking forward to sending them copies to keep :)

sorry about the watermark on these ones...

Paradise Found!

We are in an open treehouse over the Kavango river in Caprivi listening to Hippo. This place is paradise, we wish we could stay longer. We are definately coming back!

Took some great shots in a local village this afternoon but will upload them in another post :) Here are some images from yesterday...

Etosha

Seems that drought has turned Etosha into a dust bowl. Being one of the biggest tourist attractions in Namibia everything was packed full of safari clad, fanny pack wearing turdists. The staff in the reserve are pretty miserable too. We did however see some cool animals ... Lion, Leopard, Giraffe, Elephant, Zebra and a bunch of the antelope.

Happy to have seen the animals, happy to be out of there now. Advice for future travellers ... its overrun with tourists, camp stuff suck, if you can, skip the place...

Spitzkoppe

Spent a few nights at the amazing Spitzkoppe. Possibly the best camp site in the world and not crowded with tourists. One of our favourites...
